Richard Bagdasarian is an attorney, aerospace executive, and business strategist whose career spans more than four decades and crosses industries that rarely overlap. He earned his J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law in 1983, where he captained the National ABA Trial Team and took home Regional Best Individual Advocate honors, a Regional Championship, and a National Finalist distinction, along with the American College of Trial Lawyers Medal for Excellence in Advocacy. Before law school, he completed a B.A. at Hiram College in 1977 with dual majors in English and Speech Communications, studied in Cambridge, England, and produced a film series on Chief Justice John Marshall through a fellowship with WQED in Pittsburgh. He ran his own law practice, Richard C. Bagdasarian, P.A., in Boca Raton from 1983 to 2007, then spent over a decade as Case Manager at Lavalle, Brown and Ronan, P.A. In 2019 he joined America Aero Group as EVP of Strategy, where he served as Lead Project Manager for the VAS/Satair transaction in 2022. Today he also manages a family office with holdings in aerospace, agriculture distribution, and commercial real estate.

Richard started this blog because he believes most business writing overcomplicates what is actually straightforward. His operating principle, drawn from decades of high-stakes deals, is that if an idea can't be simply understood and explained, it carries too much risk to act on confidently. That lens shapes everything he writes. He covers strategy, deal-making, risk evaluation, and leadership, not in abstract terms but through the lens of someone who has sat across the table in difficult negotiations, walked away from deals on purpose to reset the terms, and built trust with counterparties by listening more than talking. He writes about the kind of questions that come up in real transactions: when to move fast, when to go quiet, and how to read what the data is actually saying versus what someone wants it to say.

Readers can expect posts grounded in the specific mechanics of how deals get done, how risk compounds when complexity goes unchecked, and how leadership shifts over time from confidence to humility. Richard draws on experience in aerospace finance, mergers and acquisitions, litigation, mediation, and family office management to write about business decisions from every angle a transaction touches. Posts appear regularly and stay practical, because his goal has always been the same: close well and build relationships that outlast the deal.
